What is RTP?

RTP stands for "Return to Player," and it's a term used by casinos to describe the percentage of any wagered money that a slot machine will pay back to players over time. The RTP is a theoretical statistical calculation and it's a long-term measure. For example, if a slot game has an RTP of 95%, it means that, in theory, the game will return 95% of wagered money to players over an extended period, while the house or the casino will retain a 5% edge.

To illustrate this, imagine you bet a total of $100 on a slot machine with an RTP of 95%. Over time, you should expect to get back $95 theoretically. However, this doesn't guarantee you'll always get back $95 for every $100 you bet. The outcome of each spin is determined by a random number generator (RNG), and the RTP is a statistical average over countless spins – typically millions.

Remember that the RTP is not a measure of short-term returns. In the short term, a player could land a massive jackpot or lose their entire stake. The RTP provides a general idea of the proportion of staked money the slot machine returns to players, allowing you to gauge your potential winning chances over the long haul.
