What is Volatility?

Volatility, also known as variance or risk level, refers to the level of uncertainty and the potential payout distribution of a casino slot machine. In simpler terms, it describes how frequently and how much a slot machine pays out to players.

A high volatility slot machine is characterized by infrequent but significant wins. A great example of this on our site would be Fire Spell. When playing such a game, you may experience long periods of gameplay without winning anything, but when you do win, the payout tends to be substantial. These slots are known for their excitement and the potential for big payouts.

On the other hand, low volatility slots offer more frequent but smaller wins. For instance, Gold O'Clock on our site is a fan favorite due to its frequent payouts. With these machines, you are more likely to receive payouts during your gameplay, but the individual wins are usually smaller in comparison. These slots provide a more steady and consistent experience without the same level of risk or potential for large payouts.
